Ray Wilson McKie was born 4 Mar 1895 in Hopkins, Nodaway, Missouri, son of Robert Wilson McKie (b. 19 Nov 1855 - d. 26 Jul 1946 in Savannah, Andrew County, Missouri) and Mary Elenora Cole (b. 02 Apr 1865 in Clarinda, Page County, Iowa - d. 2 Apr 1965 in Akron, Washington County, Colorado).
Ray was sent overseas June 12, 1918 to France and took part in the World War I battles of Meuse, Argonne, and Alsace Lorraine. He was a Private, Det 101st Engineers, England. He was discharged April 30, 1919.
Ray was required to register for Selective Service during World War II but did not serve.
He engaged in farming for 26 years and was a RFD mail carrier on the Waitley Route.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 66 and the VFW 8064 in Akron.
Ray McKie died 15 May 1965 in Akron, Washington, Colorado and is buried in Akron Cemetery, Washington County, Colorado, Plot: Bl. 5, Sec. 13, Lot 33, Sp. 6.
